The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series to advance to the World Series.
The Dodgers are appearing in their first World Series since winning the title in the shortened 2020 season.
In all four of their wins in the 2024 NLCS, the Dodgers offense put up at least eight runs.
Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts revealed his thoughts after clinching the series at Dodger Stadium.
“Right now, I’m just really excited, we are close to finishing the job, and I’m so proud of our guys,” Roberts said, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.
In 9 years as #Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts has now won 4 pennants.

He also mentioned the adversity that the team faced this season.
A big issue was the injuries to their starting rotation, including stars Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw.
When healthy, they are likely the Dodgers’ best two pitchers, and they have been without them for the entirety of the postseason.
Roberts briefly described all of the pitchers they’ve had to utilize and the strategy that was used to deploy them at the right times.
It would appear that the injuries to Glasnow and Kershaw forced Roberts to utilize bullpen games more than he normally would.
Roberts has managed the Dodgers since 2016, and in those nine seasons has won four National League pennants.
He will lead the Dodgers against the New York Yankees in the World Series, starting with Games 1 and 2 in L.A.
