De Boer criticizes Manchester United and Erik ten Hag’s display in Tottenham Hotspur match – Man United Updates and Transfers

Erik ten Hag opens up on his Manchester United future after 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur - Man United News And Transfer News

Former Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer has criticized Erik ten Hag and questioned his suitability for the Manchester United job.

After another lackluster performance against Tottenham Hotspur, several pundits have criticized the United manager.

Robbie Savage and Jamie Redknapp have both suggested that the United manager could be sacked soon.

The media has also begun speculating about his possible successor, with Inter manager Simeone Inzaghi being mentioned. However, reports indicate that Ten Hag’s sacking is not imminent and he will be in charge for upcoming matches against FC Porto and Aston Villa.

De Boer, speaking post-match on Sunday while working for Viaplay, criticized Ten Hag’s management of the club (via The Mirror).

De Boer, who had his own struggles in England, stated, “United look like a team that are wobbling everywhere. They have been totally outclassed [by Tottenham] – and I am talking about being outclassed tactically, in quality, in effort and energy. Where weren’t they outclassed?”

The former Barcelona defender also criticized United’s players for making numerous errors during the match.

De Boer also mentioned new signing Joshua Zirkzee, who has struggled since his arrival from Bologna and was linked with a move to Juventus.

Commenting on Zirkzee’s performance, he said, “look at Joshua Zirkzee. He was having a nightmare. He was absolutely shocking. How many times does he make the wrong choices on the pitch? Okay, he did have one shot at goal and the keeper saved it. But all in all he was champion in losing the ball.”

De Boer highlighted how poor United looked compared to Tottenham and expressed his surprise at the confidence shown by the opposition at Old Trafford.
