Alex de Minaur and Alexander Zverev have confirmed their participation in the highly anticipated 2026 Laver Cup, set to unfold at the O2 Arena in London from September 25 to 27. Both players are well-established figures in the tennis world: Zverev currently ranks fourth, while de Minaur is in sixth place.
As representatives of Team Europe and Team World, respectively, the two players will join an impressive roster of talent. Team Europe features the reigning Australian Open champion Carlos Alcaraz, the world’s top-ranked player as of now, while Team World will include World No. 8 Taylor Fritz, who notably triumphed against Alcaraz during the previous Laver Cup.
Zverev expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the esteemed tournament, saying, “The team atmosphere is incredible, and the intensity is unlike anything else we play all year. On the other hand, de Minaur, engaged to British tennis player Katie Boulter, is eager to showcase his skills in front of the British crowd once again. He highlighted his past experiences, noting the thrill and intensity of the event. Having been instrumental in two past Laver Cup victories for Team World, de Minaur said, “Laver Cup is one of the most intense and exciting weeks on the calendar. Playing in London in 2022 was a special moment for our team, and I loved playing under Andre last year. I’m really looking forward to getting back out there in London with him and the team.”
