The 2024 Laver Cup will be held in Berlin, and it’s shaping up to be a special one as Team World secured the services of Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.
The Laver Cup is many months away, but there are some pretty pointers that it will be a really huge event again in 2024. Last year’s event was a bad one for Team Europe as they failed to field a really strong team.
The end result was a loss, which they won’t forget in a while. It was also the second time in a row that Team World was able to win the event.
This year’s event will be held in Berlin, and a few players who will play at the event were already announced, and it’s a pretty strong side for Europe. Carlos Alcaraz will make his debut at the event, and we’ll also see Alexander Zverev, who will want to delight the home crowd.
Daniil Medvedev also signed up for the event, and a few Team World players were announced as well, with team captain John McEnroe making his picks. Alex de Minaur will wear the red once more after a tremendous year, which saw him rise up the rankings and establish himself as a proper force.
Taylor Fritz hasn’t had a very good year so far, but the American is always dangerous in both outdoor and indoor conditions, so he’ll certainly be a threat to do some damage at the event.
Tommy Paul is another player who has had some good and bad showings, but he’ll also be in Berlin, hoping to give Team World a boost, which McEnroe certainly hopes for.
“Bjorn has had a really strong start to his lineup this year, so it’s great to have Alex, Taylor and Tommy back on the team again. They have performed well in this competition, have been great team members, and know what it takes to win.”
The event will run from September 20th to 22nd, and all three players will hope to bring glory to Team World.
