During the NFL offseason, the Tennessee Titans seemed to make an effort to put together a talented football team around second-year quarterback Will Levis, even though losing superstar running back Derrick Henry to the Baltimore Ravens was costly.
The Titans gave Levis two solid veteran wide receivers to throw to with DeAndre Hopkins staying in Tennessee and the franchise bringing in Calvin Ridley, but the young quarterback hasn’t been able to get them involved the way the team had hoped, leading to some frustration.
Ridley recently complained about not being more involved early in games, and Hopkins hasn’t put up the kind of numbers that he’s been capable of with the offense seemingly falling flat on a weekly basis.
With the Titans headed in the wrong direction, there have been rumors about teams with a need at wide receiver potentially trying to go after Hopkins in a trade, especially after Davante Adams and Amari Cooper recently moved on to the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, respectively.
Hopkins was asked about potentially being traded elsewhere this season and did not express a preference to go anywhere.
“I love my life. I love where I am. I’m present, so God put me where I need to be. He always will. I play football,” Hopkins said, via Titans insider Paul Kuharsky.

At this point, the Titans should go in the same direction as the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders did with Cooper and Adams and cut ties with Hopkins while he still has value, because keeping him is unlikely to result in the team winning games this season.
Only time will tell if Tennessee decides to make a move before the NFL trade deadline next month, but it seems possible, if not likely, right now.
