Carlos Alcaraz will not defend his title in Barcelona.
The 20-year-old has pulled out of the ATP 500 event due to the same right arm injury that forced him out of Monte-Carlo. The World No.3 is planning on making his clay-court debut in Madrid, which commences on April 24.
Alcaraz has been dealing with an injury to his right forearm (pronator teres).
The Spaniard is 14-5 on the season with a title at Indian Wells.
