Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has the pleasure of coaching two of the country’s best 2024 NFL Draft prospects, and they are leading the Buffaloes to new heights at 4-1 going into a tough matchup against Kansas State.

Sanders has garnered plenty of criticism for his coaching style, but one thing nobody can deny is that he’ll always be first in line to hype up his guys, which he recently did for one of those top prospects.

“Travis Hunter is one of the best human beings I know. He loves the game of football,” Sanders said on “College GameDay.”

Nost Pat McAfee mentioned to Sanders that Hunter, a true two-way player at wide receiver and cornerback, is currently second in Heisman Trophy betting odds, to which Sanders responded, “Travis Hunter and second have never gotten along.”

Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is the current Heisman favorite, as he is on pace to run all the way to the FBS records for single-season rushing yards and touchdowns.

Sanders also praised Hunter for his work ethic and focus, pointing out how the possible No. 1 overall pick doesn’t drink or party and never creates worry about what he’s going to do with his free time, while also joking about how the two race to wake up early and text the other to start their day.

Hunter is having a special season on both sides of the ball and along with quarterback Shedeur Sanders is a main reason why Colorado is off to such a great start, and it will be fun to see how his skill inevitably translates to the NFL level and if he’ll be able to still play both offense and defense as a professional.
