Former international golf professional Mike Clayton considers Portsea Golf Club to be among his top 10 courses in Australia to play. This included transforming the original second, fourth, and fifth holes into what are now known as the 15th, 17th, and 18th holes, creating a spectacular back nine. Clayton believes that while Portsea may rank around 25-30 in Australia, it easily makes it to his personal top 10. The work done by Grant breathed new life into the club long before the decision to sell off land for housing and relocate the clubhouse.
