Amad Diallo Reflects on Draw Against Nottingham Forest

Amad Diallo expressed his frustration after Manchester United’s attempt to secure a fourth consecutive victory ended in a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest. Following a difficult previous season and a slow start to the current campaign, the Red Devils showed some improvement in October, earning wins over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton.

Entering November with momentum, United were eager to continue their winning streak but found themselves in a challenging match against Forest. They initially took the lead thanks to a goal from Casemiro, scored from a disputed corner. However, the game turned in the second half as Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolò Savona quickly netted two goals for Forest. Diallo managed to level the score with a well-executed volley but came close to sealing the win in stoppage time when his shot was cleared off the line.

“We are really disappointed to leave with only a point,” said the 23-year-old Ivorian international. “We were on a good run after winning three matches in a row and aimed for the fourth win. This match can teach us lessons for the future.”

United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, noted the group’s positive evolution, stating that they would have likely lost this kind of match last season. “Winning always builds confidence within the team,” reflected Diallo. “Everyone is currently feeling good about their form.” He emphasized the importance of learning from manager Amorim’s system and achieving consistent performance.

Diallo is excelling in the right wing-back role under Amorim, who has been at the helm for a year. When asked about the club’s progress, Diallo remarked, “It wasn’t an easy beginning for us or him. However, we’ve come a long way in understanding the system and aim to win every game to elevate the club’s stature.”

As they prepare for a match against Tottenham next Saturday, Diallo knows they must maintain focus to return to winning ways. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest will host Leeds at the City Ground on Sunday, following their Europa League campaign where Savona aims to build on their recent success.

“We need to work harder to secure more victories in both the Europa League and the Premier League,” Savona stated, emphasizing the mindset required moving forward.
