Dillon Brooks Called Out By Teammate Following Wild Scuffle

Dillon Brooks Called Out By Teammate Following Wild Scuffle

Dillon Brooks has been called out for bad behaviour by teammate Jock Landale. The Australian big man cracked half a smile while making the comments, but it was clear there was a lot of truth to what he was saying.

“Dillon Brooks, if you’re listening, this ain’t Memphis, man,” Landale said in his postgame interview after the Houston Rockets beat the Chicago Bulls 127-117 on Thursday.

“Stop getting yourself ejected. We need you out here. We need that physicality.”

Brooks was ejected Thursday after confronting DeMar DeRozan, who had bumped Rockets guard Jalen Green to the ground on the previous play.

Brooks was upset and swiftly approached DeRozan, who had his back turned. DeRozan then turned, appearing to elbow Brooks in the chin, leading to a momentary entanglement of their arms.

Other players from both teams then rushed in to separate them. The altercation escalated as team staff and security stepped in to intervene.

Chicago’s Torrey Craig joined the fray, and amidst the chaos, he and Brooks tumbled to the ground after tripping over a fallen security guard.

Once the dust settled and the incident was reviewed, DeRozan’s initial foul was deemed a flagrant foul 2, resulting in his ejection. Brooks received a technical foul and was also ejected.

At the time of his departure, Brooks had been the game’s leading scorer for Houston, tallying 23 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting.

DeRozan, meanwhile, exited the game with 16 points on 4-of-15 shooting 23 minutes of play.
