We have reached the quarterfinals at the 2024 Copa America, and for American fans, the sting is still present. Still, the tournament goes on and for soccer fans, there is still plenty of action to watch. The quarterfinals get started tonight when Argentina takes on Ecuador.

Argentina is the reigning World Cup and Copa América champions, and they got through the group stage with a perfect 3-0-0 record. They didn’t allow a goal in Group A, the only team to not concede a goal in the group stage. They’re not playing at the maximum of their abilities, but they’re getting the job done and now that the knockout stage is here, you can bet that Lionel Messi and the rest of the crew will be focused on defending their title.

Standing in their way is Ecuador, who finished second in Group B with a 1-1-1 record. They were able to fend off Mexico to advance to the knockout stage, and they’re looking to make a big statement by taking out the champions. They may have been flying under the radar, but now it’s time for them to see if they can win with the eyes of the world upon them.
