It’s Day 11 of the 2024 Copa America, and the USMNT’s archrivals find themselves with work to do to get out of Group B. Mexico takes on Ecuador, while Jamaica takes on Venezuela in the Group B finale.
Venezuela enters their final match of the group stage in first place in the group, courtesy of wins over Mexico and Ecuador. They have already qualified for the knockout stage, but can make it 3 for 3 tonight when they take on a Jamaica team that is eliminated from the competition. Venezuela only need a draw to win the group, and you will likely see them try to do that while Jamaica look to play spoiler and leave Copa América on a good note.
Mexico and Ecuador are playing tonight for 2nd place in the group and either could even win the group with a win and a Venezuela loss with some goal differential help. Mexico are fighting for their lives, as only a win will see them through to the knockout stage. Ecuador can advance with a win or draw over Mexico, so they will hope to hold it down and get through to the quarterfinals. It could be the match of the group stage thus far.
