Every week, MLB’s official Twitter account updates its team power rankings.

It’s a nice way to see which teams are soaring and living up to their potential, which ones are exceeding expectations, and which ones are disappointing.

This week, the league has the Los Angeles Dodgers at the top of the rankings, and it’s a deserving spot for them given how dominant they have looked in recent games.

The Dodgers are coming off a sweep of the powerful Atlanta Braves.

LA outscored Atlanta, 20-6, in the three-game set, and was able to beat elite pitchers such as Max Fried.

They made the Braves look like an average team when it’s clearly not the case.

LA is already sporting a healthy 5.5-game lead in the NL West, ahead of the San Diego Padres, and is looking like the team to beat in the National League with a rock-solid 23-13 record.

The Dodgers have won four straight contests and 11 of their last 13.

After a somewhat sluggish start – for its lofty standards – Los Angeles is already showing its true power and potential.

Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Will Smith are carrying the team offensively, and the pitching staff has been able to hold down the fort thanks to brilliant performances from Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and others.

When it comes to talent and depth, the Dodgers are on a tier of their own.

If they are fully healthy come September and October, they are arguably the most dangerous team in baseball and it may not be particularly close.
