Donald Young and Taylor Townsend Advance to the Mixed Doubles Semifinals at US Open

(September 2, 2024) FLUSHING, NY – Donald Young’s career is not over yet. The 35-year-old who is playing mixed doubles with longtime friend Taylor Townsend is now in the mixed doubles semifinals. On Monday, Townsend and Young rallied past last year’s mixed doubles champions Anna Danilina and Harri Heliovaara 6-7(3), 6-3, [10-8].

Young and Townsend were given a wild card into the mixed doubles draw as Young wanted to end his career at the US Open.

The semifinals will be a big challenge for the American team as they will be playing the eighth seeded team of Aldila Sutjiadi of Indonesia and Rohan Bopanna of India.
