Draper Joins the Ranks of Withdrawals from the Monte-Carlo Masters

Jack Draper has officially pulled out of the upcoming Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, a decision he made public on Tuesday. This withdrawal arises as a precautionary measure during his recovery from a lingering arm injury he sustained in 2025.

The British tennis player had been sidelined for a significant portion of the previous year and the early part of this season, making his return to competition in February. With a record of 5 wins and 3 losses since then, Draper did manage to reach the quarterfinals at Indian Wells, which included a notable victory over the legendary Novak Djokovic. However, his momentum was abruptly halted in Miami, where he suffered a defeat to Reilly Opelka in the opening round.

Draper is not alone in his decision to skip the prestigious Monte-Carlo event. American players Taylor Fritz and Sebastian Korda have also withdrawn, alongside Djokovic. Notably, the Monte-Carlo Masters stands out as the only tournament among the nine ATP Masters 1000 events that is not compulsory for top-ranked players.

Despite these notable absences, the tournament will still feature prominent competitors, including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Alexander Zverev. Other contenders in the draw will include Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Daniil Medvedev. Additionally, wild cards have been granted to experienced players like Stan Wawrinka, Matteo Berrettini, Gael Monfils, and Moise Kouame.

The Monte-Carlo Masters is set to take place from April 5 to April 12, promising an exciting week of tennis despite the latest withdrawals.
