In a bold prediction, Draymond Green forecasts the Phoenix Suns emerging victorious in the first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, despite the Suns being the lower seed.

Green emphasizes the importance of Kevin Durant guarding Anthony Edwards for Phoenix’s success in the series, suggesting that Durant’s defensive prowess will be a determining factor.

During an episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green expressed his belief that the Suns possess superior offensive firepower, giving them an edge in the series.

While acknowledging the defensive capabilities of Bradley Beal, Green suggests that Durant’s length and defensive intensity will be crucial in containing Edwards.

“I think Phoenix will win the series. I think they’ve got too much firepower offensively,” Green said. “Here’s what will have to happen for Phoenix to win the series. At some point throughout this series, Kevin Durant is going to have to guard Anthony Edwards.

“If Phoenix is going to have a chance at winning this series, at some point, may not be Game 1, may not be Game 2 or 3, but at some point in this series Kevin Durant is going to have to say ‘All right, I’m going.’

“And Brad Beal is a good defender. Brad competes. But at some point Kevin is going to have to take his length, his defensive tenacity when he wants to turn that up, and he’s going to have to go guard Anthony Edwards if they’re going to move forward in this series.”

Notably, the Suns dominated the regular-season series against the Timberwolves, sweeping them 3-0.
