The Dallas Cowboys had some quarterback drama the past couple of months as they failed to agree to terms on an extension for Dak Prescott.
For a while, it seemed like the Cowboys were content to let Prescott play out the 2024 NFL season without a new deal in place, but the organization finally gave in and signed him to a four-year, $240 million deal that makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history.
Paying Prescott seemed like a formality this offseason, but Dallas initially seemed hesitant to guarantee that much money for someone who has yet to win a Super Bowl.
Ultimately, though, the two sides came to an agreement and can now go through the regular season with one less distraction to worry about.
Quarterback issues are fairly common around the league, and Dallas is definitely familiar with some controversies at the position.
For example, Drew Bledsoe recently discussed some of his gripes with Tony Romo during their days together in Dallas.
“The minute he became the starter he became pretty big in his own mind and he was no longer the curious, inquisitive guy,” Bledsoe said. “That was the difference between him & Tommy. Tommy became the starter he still was asking all the questions and all of a sudden Romo was the guy that had all the answers.”

Bledsoe spent two seasons with the Cowboys at the end of his career and was eventually replaced by Romo.
Romo’s got a wealth of football knowledge and expertise, but it sounds like Bledsoe was bitter about how his tenure in Dallas unfolded.
