Duke 2024-25 Roster Update: Seventh Blue Devil Enters Transfer Portal – Who’s In and Out

Duke 2024-25 Roster Update: Seventh Blue Devil Enters Transfer Portal – Who’s In and Out

The upcoming 2024-25 season for Duke basketball will see significant changes compared to the previous year. The Blue Devils, under Jon Scheyer, returned four starters and made it to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, a feat not achieved since the departure of Coach K.

However, Duke has already seen seven players enter the transfer portal, including notable names like Jeremy Roach, Mark Mitchell, and Jaden Schutt. Additionally, stars Kyle Filipowski and Jared McCain have declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, leaving significant holes in Duke’s lineup.

Looking ahead, the starting backcourt for Duke is expected to feature returners Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster. Proctor, who chose to return for another season, will bring experience to the team, while Foster, a highly touted recruit, will have the opportunity to step into a larger role.

With key players like McCain, Filipowski, and Roach not returning, Duke will rely on its incoming recruiting class to make an impact. Led by five-star forward Cooper Flagg and five-star center Khaman Maluach, Duke’s class is highly regarded and expected to contribute immediately.

As the roster continues to take shape, Duke fans can follow CBS Sports for real-time updates on the team’s players and recruits. With a mix of returning talent and promising newcomers, the Blue Devils are poised for an interesting season ahead.
