Eddie Howe admits there is a fresh injury concern in Newcastle’s attack

Newcastle United’s injury concerns persist despite their 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest.

While Harvey Barnes has recently returned and both Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson are reportedly close to a comeback, Eddie Howe has confirmed there is now a slight concern regarding Callum Wilson once again.

The £20 million striker has only just returned from a calf problem, but it appears there is now a fresh issue to contend with.

As per Craig Hope of the Daily Mail on social media, Howe confirmed that Wilson now has a problem with a muscle in his arm, which has led to a “slight concern.”

With Alexander Isak not expected to return for a short while, it’s crucial for Newcastle to have Wilson fit and available. Wilson has admitted his frustration at not being able to play with Isak more often this season.

The pair have either scored or assisted 18 of the Magpies’ Premier League goals. And to have neither of them available for upcoming games against Bournemouth, Arsenal, and Blackburn would indeed be a major blow.

Newcastle United currently sit seventh in the table, ten points behind Aston Villa, and they’re also still in the FA Cup. While it’s been a relatively good campaign, you do have to wonder how much better it would’ve been at this stage if they didn’t have all of these injury problems.
