Emma Bunch claims victory at Golfweek Fall Challenge

Emma Bunch picked up the win at Golfweek Fall Challenge

Emma Bunch showcased her exceptional accuracy at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina during the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The New Mexico State junior only missed two fairways in 54 holes, finishing with an impressive score of 7 under.

This level of precision is not surprising for the Danish player who has now won six of her last seven starts with the Aggies. Her remarkable track record earned her a spot on the preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List earlier this year.

Reflecting on her performance, Bunch noted, “I think I’ve always been a good ballstriker, but my short game has improved significantly over the last year. Now, even if I miss a green, I feel confident in my ability to get up and down, which is why I am rarely making bogeys.”

Scores: Golfweek Fall Challenge

Bunch’s success at Caledonia can be credited to a course that suits her style of play. Additionally, her development in short game and enhanced confidence have been key factors contributing to her winning streak in college golf.

New Mexico State coach Danny Bowen emphasized Bunch’s growth in her short game and putting abilities, attributing her success to increased confidence and dedication to improving her skills.

With access to top-notch facilities and exposure to various grass types, Bunch has honed her game further since joining the Aggies. While she struggles to pinpoint the exact reason for her recent string of tournament victories, she acknowledges a newfound confidence in her abilities.

Despite her success, Bunch remains focused on the process of continuous improvement and maintaining gratitude for the opportunities she has in collegiate golf.

As a leader on her team, Bunch leads by example through her work ethic, vocal support for her teammates, and positive presence in team meetings. Her commitment to continuous improvement and uplifting her team has been instrumental in her collegiate success.

Outside of collegiate competition, Bunch has represented Denmark in international events such as the Arnold Palmer Cup, European Ladies Team Championship, and European Ladies Amateur. Her impressive performances have earned her a spot inside the top 100 in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Looking ahead, Bunch will continue to represent Denmark at the Spirit International Amateur in November, showcasing her talent on the global stage.
