Klinsmann Praises Diaz’s Performance in Bayern’s Win Over PSG
Jürgen Klinsmann expressed his admiration for Luis Diaz after the Colombian forward impressed during Bayern Munich’s 2-1 victory against Paris Saint-Germain on November 4, 2025. Diaz contributed significantly to the win by scoring both goals for Bayern in the first half.
However, his impactful game took a turn when he received a straight red card following a reckless tackle on PSG defender Achraf Hakimi, who had to be helped off the pitch in tears. This incident occurred after VAR reviewed the challenge, confirming the severity of the foul.
Bayern’s victory allowed them to take the lead in the Champions League table. Following the match, Diaz shared his feelings on Instagram, stating, “It was a night full of emotions. Football reminds us that anything can happen in 90 minutes. I was saddened not being able to finish the match with my teammates but proud of their fantastic effort. Wishing Hakimi a swift recovery.”
Earlier in the game, Ousmane Dembélé had scored what appeared to be the opening goal, but it was disallowed for offside after VAR review. Dembélé showed signs of discomfort and was substituted for Lee Kang-in before heading directly to the dressing room.
PSG manager Luis Enrique commented on the injuries of both Dembélé and Hakimi, saying, “We need to wait for the tests tomorrow. Hakimi’s injury is unfortunate, it’s part of football—a contact sport.”
Dembélé’s condition remains unclear, especially since he had recently returned from a six-week layoff due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing for France. PSG also missed forward Désiré Doué due to a right thigh injury.
Bayern Munich’s coach Vincent Kompany expressed concern for Hakimi, hoping for a quick recovery as he reflected on the intensity of such matches and the risks of injury.
