Eric Cantona Criticizes Sir Alex Ferguson’s Decision at Man United as “Totally Scandalous”: Man United News and Transfer Update

"Such a lack of respect!": Eric Cantona slams Man United's "totally scandalous" Sir Alex Ferguson decision - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United icon Eric Cantona has branded the club’s decision to drop Sir Alex Ferguson as “totally scandalous” as he insisted that the legendary Scot should be afforded more respect.

Earlier today, it shockingly emerged that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS abruptly ended Sir Alex’s lucrative ambassadorial role with United.

It was stated that this move was taken as part of Ratcliffe’s ruthless cost-cutting measures, which are geared towards ensuring United remain in compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

It’s understood that Ratcliffe told Ferguson in a face-to-face meeting that he would no longer receive an annual salary, which is believed to be worth millions of pounds.

The discussion was described as “amicable.”

However, this has not gone down well with Cantona, who has made no secret of his displeasure.

The Frenchman took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself and Ferguson. He captioned the photo with the message, “Sir Alex Ferguson should be able to do anything he wants at the club until the day he dies.”

“Such a lack of respect. It’s totally scandalous.”

“Sir Alex Ferguson will be my boss forever!”

Cantona added, “And I throw them all in a big bag of shit!”

Ferguson became a global club ambassador and club director after stepping down as manager in 2013 after an extremely successful 26-year reign.

He delivered an unrivalled 13 Premier League titles, two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups, four League Cups, one European Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup and 10 Community Shield trophies.

The 82-year-old is widely considered to be the greatest-ever football manager.
