Erik ten Hag reaches out to Joshua Zirkzee with hopes of securing Man United move

Wage demands holding up Manchester United's move for Joshua Zirkzee - Man United News And Transfer News

Finding a strike partner to ease the burden on Rasmus Hojlund has proven to be challenging for Manchester United.

The Danish forward was clearly overplayed in his debut season, with Erik ten Hag relying on him due to lack of alternatives. The Glazers did not provide further reinforcements last summer and in January.

Despite the tough circumstances, Hojlund emerged as the top scorer, earning praise from the club as their main striker moving forward.

United is looking for a player willing to share playing time. Joshua Zirkzee is rumored to be the top target, but he prefers to be the focal point in a team.

Zirkzee’s Main Man Aspirations

He had a successful season with Bologna, attracting interest from Italy and England with 12 goals and seven assists, finishing fifth.

Reports suggest Zirkzee wants to stay in Bologna as the main striker, but AC Milan is also interested in making him their top forward.

Zirkzee’s release clause of €40 million becomes active soon and will remain valid until August as reported by The Peoples Person.

While triggering the release clause won’t be an issue for AC Milan, they are hesitant about paying the agent’s commission fee. Manchester United is ready to handle both aspects and Ten Hag is working to finalize the deal.

Ten Hag’s Efforts to Persuade Zirkzee

According to Sky Italia, Ten Hag is in direct contact with Zirkzee, trying to convince him to join Manchester United as their top priority target this summer.

The pre-season is approaching, and United needs to finalize their squad soon. Ten Hag aims for INEOS to complete most transfers before pre-season training to prepare for upcoming matches.
