Ex-Cowboys Player Exposes Cause of Team’s Playoff Struggles

The Dallas Cowboys have struggled to win in the playoffs for decades now despite employing some of the top-tier talent available in the NFL.

The Cowboys were considered a contender during the 2023 NFL season and looked the part during the second half of the year where they reeled off win after win to make the 2024 NFL Playoffs.

However, Dallas flamed out in the Wild Card Round against the Green Bay Packers, marking yet another dispiriting finish to a season filled with championship expectations.

This offseason, owner Jerry Jones said that he would do what it takes to build a championship roster but his biggest additions came via the 2024 NFL Draft instead of free agency.

While the Cowboys are still expected to be in the mix again, it’s hard to envision them getting over the hump with the current iteration of the team.

Meanwhile, franchise legend Ed Jones offered his opinion as to why the team has struggled to get back to the Super Bowl via Bryan DeArdo of CBS.

“What separates good players and good teams is teams who have players who can go to another level in big games,” Jones said.

Jones’s main argument is the Dallas locker room needs more veterans who have played in Super Bowls, lending their experience to the rest of the roster.

Most championship-caliber teams have players who have won previously, and it’s a solid point.

Jones might do well to take the former defensive end’s advice, though it remains to be seen if any of those kinds of players will be available.
