Ex-Giants Legend Dismisses Team’s Narrative as ‘Nonsense’

Former Giants Star Calls Narrative Around Team 'Nonsense'

After a promising 2022 NFL season, the New York Giants looked like they were becoming a legitimate force to be reckoned with once again and perhaps a team that could contend for a Super Bowl title in the near future with head coach Brian Daboll calling the shots on the field and general manager Joe Schoen making the moves in the front office.

Unfortunately, the last year or so has been an absolute disaster for the Giants, who have seemingly taken two steps back rather than the leap forward that was expected.

The 2023 NFL season was forgettable, to say the least, and now the team has lost superstar running back Saquon Barkley in NFL free agency to a hated NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.

As if things weren’t bad enough for the Giants, their turbulent offseason has been documented by HBO for “Hard Knocks,” which hasn’t cast the team in a good light and has made many think that Schoen and Daboll could be out of a job sometime soon.

However, former Giants star Tiki Barber adamantly disagrees, via WFAN Sports Radio.

“This narrative that this is a make-or-break season for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll is absolute nonsense,” Barber said.

Even though Barber dismisses the notion that Daboll and Schoen are on the hot seat, it isn’t a crazy idea as the HBO show has put a spotlight on how both men do business. Another disappointing season could be enough for Giants owner John Mara to make some significant moves.

Only time will tell how things pan out for the Giants this coming season, but as of right now, it isn’t looking good for the storied NFL franchise.
