Ex-NFL General Manager Expresses Concern Over Chiefs’ Decision not to Pursue Amari Cooper

Insider Reveals Update On Amari Cooper Contract Talks

The Buffalo Bills were the team that was able to get Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper away from the Cleveland Browns.

However, former NFL GM and Super Bowl champion Michael Lombardi said he believes that the Kansas City Chiefs should’ve tried to trade for Cooper.

“This would’ve been the perfect deal for Kansas City too. … His cap number was so easy to take on,” Lombardi said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Imagine if the Chiefs, who are undefeated this season as the two-time defending Super Bowl champions, got one more weapon on the outside for Patrick Mahomes.

Cooper is one of the most underrated receivers of the last decade in the NFL.

He has seven 1,000-yard seasons in his career and has eclipsed that milestone multiple times in each of his stops with the Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys and Browns.

Other than Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs have never had a completely productive and truly dynamic receiver with Mahomes at QB.

Cooper could have certainly helped Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy and the rest of the group make their overall unit even better.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the Bills are atop the AFC East, which means they could face each other down the road in the playoffs.

These two teams have been great conference rivals for the past few years and are both heading toward Super Bowl contention again.

But it feels like Cooper joining the Bills was a massive win for Josh Allen and a bit of a loss for the Chiefs.
