Former NFL GM Makes A Big Statement About Shane Steichen

The Indianapolis Colts are off to an interesting start to the season.

Head coach Shane Steichen has this team sitting at 2-2 after winning back-to-back home games over the Chicago Bears and previously unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers.

Despite coming off the impressive win over the Steelers, it feels like the Colts are still a bit of a mystery team.

After all, they did lose to the Malik Willis-led Green Bay Packers.

Former NFL GM Michael Lombardi joined The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday to talk about what Steichen can be as an NFL head coach.

“I think Shane Steichen can be one of the best coaches in the league if he ever gets game management…I think he’s got the potential to become a really outstanding head coach,” Lombardi said.

In his first year as the Colts’ head coach last season, he almost had the team in the playoffs.

This season, it has been up and down.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson has made some good plays and some bad plays with the defense performing somewhat inconsistently so far.

But again, they are on a two-game win streak at the end of the first quarter of the NFL season.

Steichen has proven that he can be a good coach, but he needs to become more of a balanced coach that focuses on both offense and defense.

Next up for Indy is the rival Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville.
