Ex-Warriors General Manager Shares Thoughts on Klay Thompson’s Upcoming Free Agency

Ex-Warriors General Manager Shares Thoughts on Klay Thompson’s Upcoming Free Agency

Klay Thompson’s future is a major topic of discussion, especially after the way the Warriors’ season concluded, with the team’s former General Manager sharing his insights on the matter.

Having spent 11 seasons in Golden State’s Front Office, Myers is well-equipped to comment on Klay’s upcoming unrestricted free agency.

The ex-GM, now an ESPN analyst, pointed to Klay’s strong bond with longtime teammates Steph Curry and Draymond Green as the primary reason why Thompson would likely remain with the Warriors.

“I have great respect for Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green. Their competitive spirit is unmatched, which is evident in their long-standing success,” Myers stated on ESPN.

He further elaborated that Klay’s desire to stay will depend on feeling valued and fairly compensated for his part in the Warriors’ success.

Despite the hefty financial penalties the Warriors incurred for the team’s underwhelming performance, Myers emphasized the importance of addressing not just Klay’s situation, but other critical team matters as well.
