FC Koln is reportedly open to offers between €50-60 million for El Mala’s transfer. They are aware of the strong interest in the player and recognize the limited chances of retaining him.
A source familiar with the situation noted, “They understand that there’s little chance of him remaining at the club, and with various clubs interested, they anticipate a lucrative sale.”
Top clubs such as Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham, and Barcelona are also showing interest. Although Bayern Munich previously considered a move, their focus has since shifted away from that position this summer.
Interestingly, some agents believe Brighton may have made advances on the deal and could emerge as contenders for El Mala. However, his price tag poses a challenge for Brighton, leading some to question whether they will secure him. If Koln does not receive acceptable offers from other suitors, this is a situation worth monitoring.
<p“Scouts from major clubs have praised him, and there’s considerable excitement surrounding him in football circles,” remarked another source. “Some teams might choose to wait until next summer, as he’s still developing as a player, and not every club may be comfortable with that price.”
El Mala’s ideal progression might involve playing for a club like Brighton before stepping up to a top-tier team, a scenario that some larger clubs may also be contemplating.
Nevertheless, FC Koln aims to maximize their financial return on El Mala’s departure, possibly trying to pitch him to big clubs like United or Chelsea now. Chelsea’s strategy of acquiring promising young talents could encourage them to consider this investment seriously.
Christian Falk has previously mentioned that El Mala is interested in a potential move to the Premier League.
