Josh Acheampong has attracted interest from both Manchester City and Bayern Munich, as reported by journalist Ben Jacobs. Chelsea appears to be unwilling to part ways with the talented young defender, despite the ongoing scrutiny of his playing time at Stamford Bridge.
Acheampong has not yet secured a consistent spot in the first team, even though he shows great potential, raising concerns that Chelsea could risk losing him to a rival club.
Ben Jacobs notes on social media, “Manchester City and Bayern are monitoring Josh Acheampong, while Chelsea’s position remains that he is not available for sale or loan. Clubs are keeping an eye on his playing time.” He also mentioned that Levante is looking into a possible loan for Dario Essugo in 2026, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Essugo’s fitness.
Chelsea has previously lost out on talented players, such as Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, who were overlooked during their early careers in London and subsequently blossomed into stars for Liverpool and Manchester City.
While Acheampong may not yet be in the same league as those players, losing him without granting him more chances to prove his worth would undoubtedly be a setback for the club given his promise as a homegrown talent.
