The duo of legendary quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick is considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, in the history of team sports.

Together, they won six Super Bowl championships, and they hold the NFL record for most wins by a coach-quarterback duo.

When Brady left the Patriots in the 2020 offseason, there was lots of talk that he had a falling out with Belichick, but time seems to heal many wounds, and the team’s official Twitter account showed a touching moment between the two at Brady’s Hall of Fame ceremony on Wednesday.

New England sports fans have had a ton to be proud of and grateful for over the last 20 years, and the Brady-Belichick partnership was the crown jewel of New England sports during that time.

Belichick became the Patriots’ head coach in 2000, the same year Brady was a lowly rookie after being taken in the sixth round of that year’s draft.

The following year, starting QB Drew Bledsoe suffered a serious injury, Belichick tapped Brady to replace him, and the rest was history.

However, the one crack in Belichick’s armor is what both did on their own.

After leaving New England, Brady instantly won a seventh world championship ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his first season there, further entrenching the notion that he’s the greatest player in football history.

However, without Brady under center, Belichick hasn’t exactly been all that, whether it was after Brady left or before his arrival when Belichick was the Cleveland Browns’ head coach.

Without Brady, Belichick was just 83-104, and some would say that is the one thing that eliminates him from being the greatest coach in NFL history.

Belichick left the Patriots several months ago after 24 years there, and one has to wonder if or when the 72-year-old will return to the league in some capacity.
