Expected Man United Lineup against FC Porto: Rashford, Mainoo, and Zirkzee given a break – Latest on Man United’s Team and Transfer Updates

Arsenal 2 - 1 Manchester United: Player Ratings - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United will have Kobbie Mainoo available for tonight’s game against FC Porto in Portugal after he survived an injury scare.

Mainoo limped off on the stroke of half time against Spurs on Sunday but has trained and travelled with the squad.

However, we think he may be rested anyway, with Christian Eriksen coming back into the team alongside Manuel Ugarte.

The defence, however, is likely to remain unchanged despite shipping three goals on Sunday.

Andre Onana, who was probably United’s man of the match despite the scoreline, will be in goal.

Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot will be the full backs in the ongoing absence of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez will probably continue at centre back, although Harry Maguire is fit again after missing the Spurs game. Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans are other options.

Erik ten Hag has been rotating his wingers this season and this may continue tonight, in which case, it would be Marcus Rashford’s turn to step down, with Amad Diallo playing on the right and Alejandro Garnacho on the left.

Antony has also travelled but is unlikely to start.

Bruno Fernandes will play in the number 10 position. Mason Mount suffered a head injury at the weekend so has not travelled, although he should be available for the weekend trip to Aston Villa.

With Joshua Zirkzee struggling to adapt to Ten Hag’s system at United, Rasmus Hojlund may be brought in to start his first game of the season in the number 9 position.

Reserve goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton, Casemiro and youngsters Dan Gore and Toby Collyer make up the travelling party.

With all that in mind, here is our predicted XI for tonight’s 8pm kick off:
