The San Francisco 49ers have had arguably the best roster in the NFL for at least a couple of years, but they’re still in search of their first Super Bowl championship since the 1994 season.
They have lost in their last three trips to the Super Bowl, including this February, when they blew a 10-point lead and lost in overtime to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
While some feel their championship window is almost closed, Emmanuel Acho said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that their roster is “constructed in a way that can last forever” because of how well they have done in the draft.

Because of the NFL’s hard salary cap, and especially because of how much salaries for quarterbacks and wide receivers have gone through the roof in the past couple of years, teams must get value for their draft picks in order to win and stay together.
Acho mentioned how middle linebacker Fred Warner, who is arguably the best at his position, was a third-round draft pick, star safety Talanoa Hufanga was a fifth-round pick and Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle was also a fifth-round pick.
Of course, quarterback Brock Purdy was the last player taken in the 2022 draft, and he has become one of the sports’ greatest Cinderella stories ever.
Right now, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is engaged in a contract standoff with management, but even if he or fellow wideout Deebo Samuel end up leaving, the team could recover, as 2024 first-round pick Ricky Pearsall, a wideout from the University of Florida, is thought to have plenty of potential.
