Major League Baseball is set to begin its final stage with the World Series between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.
With most of the talk in the baseball world being about that series, upcoming offseason decisions are overlooked for the time being.
However, once the season concludes, there are plenty of storylines that will take over, including players who may choose to opt out of their contract.
MLB analyst Jon Heyman highlighted some of those players who could opt out and look for new contracts this offseason.
“Gerrit Cole is likely, obviously Sean Manaea, Nick Martinez will opt out, Blake Snell will opt out, and Cody Bellinger is a close call,” Heyman said, via B/R Walk-Off.

For now, the World Series is getting all of the attention, and rightly so, with Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Aaron Judge and Juan Soto all taking center stage.
Heyman appears to believe Cole will stay put with the Yankees, Manaea solidified himself as an ace pitcher this season with the New York Mets, Snell could switch teams again after pitching for the San Francisco Giants, and Bellinger may stay put with the Chicago Cubs.
Another star to keep an eye on is Soto, who will become a free agent and could potentially sign a record-breaking deal with either the Yankees or another team.
All of this is something to look forward to after the likely electric World Series comes to an end.
