Defense seems to be a lost art in today’s National Football League, and as such, there aren’t that many defensive backs who are consistently able to stand out from the rest of the pack.

Playing defense is so difficult because of the rules and how much they favor passers and wide receivers.

However, despite all that, there is a handful of cornerbacks who routinely make a big impact.

With that in mind, former NFL TE Clay Harbor shared his list of the top five cornerbacks in today’s game (via The Rally).

At No. 5, he chose Kendall Fuller, lauding him for his ability to pressure the quarterback, guard, and tackle, and he believes he’s going to flourish with the Miami Dolphins under Anthony Weaver’s tutelage.

Then, he talked about another Miami Dolphins star, Jalen Ramsey, adding that he’s one of the most physical CBs at the line of scrimmage in NFL history.

Then, he talked about Chicago Bears star Jaylon Johnson, who allowed a league-worst 33 passer rating when targeted last season.

At No. 2, he has New York Jets’ stud Sauce Gardner, and while he believes he holds too much, he praised him for his ability to lock players up in both man-to-man and zone defenses.

Then, at No. 1, he had Trent McDuffie, stating that Steve Spagnuolo and the Kansas City Chiefs defense wouldn’t be able to do what they do without him, as he does everything on the defensive side of the field, from tackling to getting sacks or breaking up passes.
