Explaining Bryson DeChambeau’s Unique US Open-Winning Bag Setup: A Closer Look

WATCH: Bryson DeChambeau's unique US Open-winning bag setup explained

Bryson DeChambeau celebrates winning the US Open

Bryson DeChambeau has one of the most unique bag setups in the professional game right now.

He has gone out of his way to find clubs that suit his game and sets up his bag in an intriguing manner.

DeChambeau has become a great disciple of the Krank Formula Fire range of drivers and fairway woods.

His driver is a Krank Formula Fire Pro lofted at six degrees with a custom hosel that gets that down to five degrees of loft off the tee, when paired with the LA Golf Bryson Series shaft this is a setup that is ideal for the player generating terrific club speed.

DeChambeau rather famously uses two 3-woods in the bag although they are set up with different loft settings.

His standard 3-wood is setup to play at 12 degrees of loft and has a slightly more compact head than the 3-wood+ that he uses as his 5-wood in this bag.

His custom 3-D printed Avoda Prototype irons have been talked about a lot as the potential future of golf equipment.

“It’s just a speed thing, when I hit it on the toe or heel a little bit, it just seems to fly a lot straighter. This is what has allowed me to hit some iron shots a lot straighter and be more comfortable over the ball,” he said of the irons.

He uses a set of four Ping Glide 4.0 wedges, three with the company’s S-grind, with his 60 degree wedge sporting a W-grind.

The US Open winner’s putter of choice is the SIK Pro C-Series Armlock with a heavy LA Golf shaft and JumboMax JMX Jumboflat 17 grip.

“We went through every conceivable option (even face-on putting) and the arm-lock proved to be the most consistent method we tried,” SIK Director of Communications Tyler Finley said.
