Exploring PXG’s BLACK OPS DRIVERS in Australia’s Leading Golf Magazine Chosen by Golfing Enthusiasts

PXG is the innovative creation of American business icon and charity-sponsor, Bob Parsons. The former GoDaddy founder started the PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf) venture in 2013 with the goal of producing golf clubs without compromise.

Parsons, a member of the US Marine Corps and a winner of the Purple Heart for his efforts in the Vietnam War, maintains that  he owes his considerable commercial and charitable achievements to his time in the service.

2024 sees another exciting new addition to PXG’s military-themed inventory: the Black Ops drivers. There are two driver formats available; the compact, Tour-inspired Black Ops 0311 Tour-1 model and its larger-headed, forgiveness-oriented sibling, the 0311 Black Ops driver.

The Black Ops branding conjures up thoughts of secret military operations and PXG has indeed added some highly-specialised tech to these sleek drivers. These range from optimized variable face thickness and a compression-moulded carbon fibre crown / sole to a new high-strength Ti alloy construction that ensures consistent energy transfer across the face’s multiple impact zones. In addition, consumers can adjust the accompanying 2.5 g and 12.5 g weights across the three weight ports to achieve a formidable 10 K MOI.

The Black Ops 0311 Tour-1 model, designed for better players, comes in 8, 9 and 10.5 degree options; while its more-wide-ranging sibling, the Black Ops 0311 model, comes in a wider range of loft options: 8, 9, 10.5 and 12-degrees. Lefties can access the former driver in 9-degrees only; while the latter model is available in 9, 10.5 and 12-degrees.

Offering a secretive combination of accuracy, distance and what PXG describes as “ more forgiveness than a priest on Sunday”, these stealthy new Black Ops drivers seem certain to garner popularity at the premium end of the hi-tech driver market.

RRP: Black Ops 0311 model ($1199)

Black Ops 0311 Tour-1 model ($1299)
