Fabrizio Romano Reports Chelsea’s Strong Interest in Brazilian Teenager

Chelsea Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea are interested in signing Palmeiras prodigy Estevao Willian during the upcoming summer transfer window. Romano reveals that discussions between Chelsea and Palmeiras have been ongoing since January, although an official bid has not yet been made.

Fabrizio Romano Claims Chelsea Have “Concrete” Interest In Estevao Willian

Chelsea has a track record of acquiring young and talented players, and under the leadership of Todd Boehly, this trend has intensified. In recent transfer windows, Chelsea has invested heavily in recruiting promising young talents from across Europe.

As per Romano, Chelsea is now looking towards Brazil and considering a move for Estevao Willian, also known as ‘Messinho.’ Talks have been held with Palmeiras since January, but a deal is not finalized yet.

In his Daily Briefing column for CaughtOffside, Romano stated:

A significant development making the rounds is Chelsea’s confidence in securing the signature of Palmeiras sensation Estevao Willian. Talks have been ongoing since January, with Chelsea displaying a keen interest. An official bid is still pending as Palmeiras awaits confirmation, but the interest from Chelsea is real.

Palmeiras continues to produce exceptional talents, highlighted by the likes of Endrick, who is set to join Real Madrid in the summer. Estevao, popularly known as ‘Messinho,’ is another promising prospect for the future and is highly regarded among the top talents in South America.”

Real Madrid & Barcelona Have Also Enquired About Messinho

According to Goal Brasil, Chelsea is not the sole club monitoring the 17-year-old Palmeiras forward, Messinho. Real Madrid, known for signing promising talents from Brazil, has shown interest in him, while Barcelona is also keeping a close eye on his progression.

Following his aspirations to emulate his idol Lionel Messi at Barcelona, reports suggest that financial constraints may hinder a move for the talented winger. Palmeiras has set an asking price of €45 million ($48.36 million) for Messinho, with additional transfer fees likely to raise the total cost to around €55 million ($59.10 million).

Considering the financial implications, Barcelona may find it challenging to meet Palmeiras’ valuation for the player.
