The tight end position has come a long way in the National Football League.
Guys like Shannon Sharpe and later Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates paved the way for the modern TE, becoming more of a factor as a pass-catcher as the years went by.
That’s why the Atlanta Falcons used their No. 4 pick on Kyle Pitts, the highest-drafted tight end in NFL history.
However, for whatever reason, despite his impressive physical tools and proven record in college, Arthur Smith didn’t use him often as a pass-catcher.
Fortunately for him and the fans, that’s no longer going to be the case.
According to a report by offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, the Falcons plan to deploy him as both a tight end and a wide receiver (via D. Orlando Ledbetter & Dov Kleiman).
The #Falcons plan to play Kyle Pitts at both TE and WR, per OC Zac Robinson.

Robinson stated that Pitts was pretty much learning two positions in his new playbook.
It’s the dawn of a new era in Georgia.
Raheem Morris took the reins of the team, and with Kirk Cousins also on the premises, they’re expected to fare significantly better.
Pitts should be a perennial mismatch in the open field and the endzone.
He could be a No. 1 passing option on many teams, and having him be more involved in the offense isn’t only a no-brainer but also a scary thought for the rest of the league.
Finally, those who draft him in fantasy football will get something in return.
