Dak Prescott is one of the more capable and prolific quarterbacks in the NFL, but opinions of the Dallas Cowboys star seem to vary.
Some observers point to the fact that Prescott led the NFL in touchdown passes and was runner-up in the MVP balloting last season as evidence of why, in their mind, he’s among the three-to-five best QBs in the game.
Others will say he’s overrated because of his repeated poor performances in the playoffs.
Former Carolina Panthers signal-caller Cam Newton said he would take Prescott over just about any other quarterback in today’s game, in part because Prescott’s 2023 stats were comparable to those of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, per 4thand1show.
“I’m taking Dak Prescott over all of these QBs!”
Do you agree with @CameronNewton‘s list? pic.com/NkKJ8L1QYq

These fans seem to at least somewhat agree with Newton.
I know many don’t agree with Dak over hurts but I do.
Dak had 4500 yrds 36td and 9 int
Hurts had 3858 yrds 23TD AND 15 intIf we are talking right now Dak over Hurts

Thank you sir for speaking the truth it was only Dak n Lamar for MVP last year and the only reason Lamar won because of who he beat because Dak stats last year was better than Lamar

But these other fans feel Prescott should be further down the list of quarterbacks one would want to have on their team.
dak has no playoff success tho

For one that first picture of his comparison compared to pat Mahomes is a joke. Pat has done more with less and shows up BIG in the playoffs every year since entering the league

In 2023, Mahomes’ numbers were down a bit in the regular season as the three-time Super Bowl champion adjusted to a young and unproven group of receivers. In 2022, he led the league with 5,250 passing yards and 41 passing touchdowns while winning his second NFL MVP award.
Prescott had some scintillating performances for the Cowboys last season. He threw four touchdown passes in four games and topped 300 passing yards five times.
But, of course, the greatest value a star can provide is performing well under the bright lights of the playoffs, and Prescott hasn’t done that.
In last season’s wild-card game against the Green Bay Packers, he threw two interceptions in the first half that allowed the Packers to build a stunning 27-0 lead on the way to a 48-32 victory.
Prescott is currently looking for a huge extension as he heads into the final season of his current contract, and thus there is quite a bit of uncertainty hanging over Jerry Jones’ franchise, no matter where anyone thinks Prescott truly ranks among the NFL’s best quarterbacks.
