Killara Golf Club Celebrates 125 Years of Tradition and Excellence

Sydney’s iconic Killara Golf Club is preparing to celebrate a milestone few ever achieve – 125 years of excellence. Following a successful refurbishment of the golf course a couple of years ago, the north shore club is now turning its attention to enhancing the clubhouse with a multi-million dollar refresh, sure to delight its members.

As part of the Quasquicentennial celebrations, the club is introducing a special series of red and white wines, along with a unique beer to mark the occasion. A group of appointed ‘tasters’ is diligently working to ensure the beer is of utmost quality and will carry a name that pays homage to one of the club’s legends.

With a strong focus on tradition and community, Killara Golf Club boasts an array of activities beyond golf, such as tennis, bowls, squash, and snooker. Recently-appointed general manager Josh Madden, with a rich background in golf, is excited about the club’s future and is eager to build on its legacy of camaraderie and excellence.

Club president Rob Crittenden highlights the sense of community and belonging that defines Killara Golf Club, making it a special place for its members. As the clubhouse undergoes a major refresh, women’s president Karen Wood looks forward to enhancing the club’s facilities and creating a more user-friendly environment.

Killara’s recent course changes have been met with acclaim, with wider fairways and improved greens offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers. Born from humble beginnings in 1899, Killara Golf Club has evolved into one of Sydney’s premier golfing destinations, embodying the essence of friendship, dedication, and excellence.
