Feyenoord Interested in Providing Career Opportunity for Struggling Manchester United Player Hannibal Mejbri – Latest News and Transfers from Manchester United

Hannibal Mejbri: Feyenoord keen on offering struggling Manchester United star career lifeline - Man United News And Transfer News

Eredivisie giants Feyenoord have reportedly registered their interest in Manchester United’s on-loan midfielder Hannibal Mejbri amidst his struggles at Sevilla.

Hannibal sealed a January loan move to Sevilla in search of regular first-team minutes but his time at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium has so far proved to be a nightmare.

The Tunisian has only managed 89 minutes of La Liga action since he joined them. He has started just once, with his other three appearances coming as a substitute.

To put into context just how horrible it has been for the United man, he had amassed 129 minutes of Premier League action before he jetted off to Spain for pastures anew.

Sevilla boss Quique Sánchez Flores has previously made no secret of his dissatisfaction with Hannibal and has lambasted the midfielder’s attitude and work ethic. It’s understood that early into his spell at the club, Hannibal got involved in a training ground bust-up with a senior teammate.

A report covered by The Peoples Person earlier this month divulged that Hannibal is set to return to Old Trafford once the season expires. Unsurprisingly, Sevilla have already decided not to trigger the £17 million buy-option that was negotiated in the loan deal with United.

According to GIVEMESPORT, the Red Devils are poised to let the 21-year-old embark on a new adventure with a different club this summer with Feyenoord keen on “giving him the platform to reignite his career.”

“Manchester United star Hannibal Mejbri is ‘likely’ to embark on a fresh challenge when the summer transfer window opens for business as Feyenoord have shown interest in offering a route out of Old Trafford following an underwhelming loan spell with Sevilla, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.”

“Feyenoord have shown early interest in luring Hannibal away from Manchester United when he is due to return to Old Trafford at the end of the campaign, according to GMS sources, with the Dutch heavyweights confident that he is capable of being a good fit for the Eredivisie thanks to his ability.”

The publication further states, “It is understood that the Rotterdam-based outfit are adamant that they could help reignite the attacking midfielder’s career, having struggled to reach the heights he achieved during a loan spell with Birmingham City as he racked up seven goal contributions in 41 outings for the Championship side last season, and he would fulfill his potential in new surroundings.”

GIVEMESPORT also point out that United are fully aware that the upcoming transfer window represents their last chance of cashing in on their academy graduate.

Erik ten Hag’s side activated the option to extend Hannibal’s contract by an extra 12 months and unless he is offered fresh terms, the player will leave for nothing in 2025.

It’s unclear whether Feyenoord want Hannibal on a permanent move or on a loan basis.
