FIVE DEBUTANTS PRESENTED WITH GB CAPS BEFORE TOURNAMENT OPENER – IHUK

FIVE DEBUTANTS PRESENTED WITH GB CAPS BEFORE TOURNAMENT OPENER – IHUK

Great Britain included five debutants in their World Championship squad for Riga, and the players received their caps today (Sunday) in the dressing room before warmup began.

Players are ‘capped’ whenrepresenting GB in a World Championship or Olympic Qualification game, and each player has a unique all-time squad number. Before today there had been 143 players capped for Great Britain women, caps number 144-148 were awarded here in Latvia.

Cap 144 – Jamie Endrizzi
Cap 145 – Laura Horwood
Cap 146 – Chloe Needham-Potts
Cap 147 – Ellie Patrick
Cap 148 – Lizzie Saunders

A special thank you to our friends at Mowbray Sports for supplying and embroidering the special caps for our debutants.

Congratulations to all five players, and their new caps paid off as they all played a full part in GB’s 1-0 win over Italy to start the tournament.
