Former Chiefs Quarterback Worked Out by Bears on Tuesday

The Chicago Bears are looking to add more depth to the quarterback position.

They only have Tyson Bagent behind Caleb Williams, so adding another veteran, even if it’s to the practice squad, shouldn’t hurt.

With that in mind, they’ve brought in former Kansas City Chiefs QB Chris Oladokun for a workout, according to Aaron Wilson.

Oladokun was released to make room for Bailey Zappe on the Chiefs’ practice squad.

He spent a couple of seasons on Andy Reid’s team and was usually very helpful when it came to mimicking mobile quarterbacks.

The Bears have struggled mightily on offense to start this season.

They rank last in the league in yards per play (3.7), and while Oladokun isn’t going to take Caleb Williams’ spot, some veteran mentorship won’t hurt.

Oladokun has yet to make an appearance in an NFL game, but he’s been around one of the best of all time.

Williams has drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes in the past, so perhaps he could give him insight and some pointers as to how to make the most of that resemblance and incorporate some things into his own game.

The No. 1 pick has struggled through the first three weeks of the season, but the team will continue to rely on him and be patient as he develops and grows through his mistakes.
