You have to be a big man if you want to be an offensive lineman in the National Football League.

It’s not a surprise that NFL players push their bodies to the limit and, more often than not, they struggle with health issues after their playing days are over.

As a matter of fact, most NFL players don’t get to walk away on their own terms, and they’re forced to retire due to some health issues.

Fortunately for him, that wasn’t the case with Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce.

Kelce rode into the sunset after last season, announcing his retirement after accomplishing everything an offensive lineman could ever accomplish.

Now, with decades still ahead of him, he wants to live his life to the fullest and in the healthiest possible way.

In a recent interview with GQ, the now-retired center admitted that he was looking forward to slimming down a little:

“As far as the weight is concerned, I weighed 295 for the majority of my NFL career, and I look forward to losing some of those pounds,” Kelce said.

Perhaps he could be taking a page from his younger brother’s book, as Travis Kelce is currently listed at 250 pounds.

The Kelce brothers have become a sensation in the sports media space, thriving with their New Heights podcast.

Travis recently acknowledged that he would love to pursue a career as a broadcaster, and Jason could be in for similar roles in the near future.

That way, he’ll get to stay close to the game he loves without having to put his body through the physical burden that comes with being out there in the trenches for a full season.
