Francisco Lindor Showcases Unique Custom Bat During London Series

Francisco Lindor #12 of the New York Mets stands in the batters box, wearing a special "4" decal along with Red "4-ALS" wristbands to honor Lou Gehrig and acknowledge 2024 being the fourth Lou Gehrig Day, during the eighth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citi Field on June 2, 2024 in New York City. The Diamondbacks won 5-4.

28 teams will be playing MLB games this Friday.

What about the remaining two?

Well, the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets are getting ready and settled in new surroundings.

They landed in England recently, where they will play the London Series against each other.

As part of MLB’s commitment to expand the game beyond America’s borders, they have played games in Mexico and South Korea recently.

There was a successful experience playing in London last year, too, in a series between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.

This time, the Mets and Phillies will clash in another exciting series.

Mets star Francisco Lindor is rocking a special bat, at least for batting practice.

MLB’s official Twitter account posted a picture of him using a bat with a cool London Bridge design.

It’s a nice gesture toward the people who are welcoming him and his team.

It’s also a way to bring together two cultures that share lots of differences, but at least one thing in common: a love for baseball.

Fans in the United Kingdom are in for another treat: they will get to watch the best team in baseball, the Phillies, boasting a 44-19 record entering game action on Saturday.

They will also get to enjoy many Mets stars including Lindor himself, Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo, J.D. Martinez, and many others.

It will be an exciting weekend in England’s capital, as fans will enjoy a true, complete American ballpark experience with food and different entertainment options.
