Fritz Defends Delray Beach Open Title Over Paul; Zhang Ousts Musetti in Doha Opener; Norrie Advances in Rio; Michelsen Wins in Los Cabos

DELRAY BEACH OPEN—Delray Beach, Florida

Defending champion Taylor Fritz notched his seventh career title on Monday in Delray Beach, Florida, dismissing good friend and fellow American Tommy Paul 6-2, 6-3.

In a match that lasted one hour and 40 minutes, Fritz used his powerful serve and potent groundstrokes to offset his speedy opponent.

Reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open last month, Fritz will be ranked No. 10 in the world on Monday.

Paul, who won the title in Dallas, Texas last week, defeated No. 2 seed Frances Tiafoe in the semifinals. The 26-year-old will improve his ranking to No. 14 this week.

The final in Delray Beach was postponed from Sunday due to rain.
