Caledonia Gladiators will be looking to move into third place in the British Basketball League with a win over the visiting Bristol Flyers.
Meanwhile, the Bristol Flyers will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss to the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks and potentially overtake their opponents in the Championship standings if they beat them in Glasgow later today.
Caledonia know that with a win they will move up two places into third, above both the Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles and the Sheffield Sharks.
Top four battle
Caledonia will see this game as a must-win with the opportunity to jump up two places in the standings.
Currently on eight wins and five losses, the Scots have started the season in great form.
Bristol will hope to get back into form after four consecutive defeats, losing all four games by a margin of 10 points or less.
The Flyers’ last win came against their next opponents when the two sides faced off earlier this month, winning 94-77.
They hope this rematch will give them the momentum they need to push for a top four finish.
Balanced on paper
The two teams sit on eight wins apiece and their stats show that they are very balanced on paper.
Caledonia average 82.8 points per game, while their opponents are just under that with 80.1.
The sides lead the way for most rebounds per game, with the hosts averaging 38.7, while the visitors average 40.
That means that the matchup between the two bigs could prove to be crucial.
Brad Greene trails only behind Levi Spencer for most rebounds per game, with 9.3 on average, coupled with 11.4 points.
His Caledonian counterpart, Trent Buttrick, is fourth in the League for most rebounds per game with 7.6, while scoring 7.1 points on average.
The Gladiators will be hoping their excellent three-point shooting will give them the edge, with an average of 37%.
The Scots are leading in that department thanks to Patrick Whelan and Ian DuBose, both of whom average 14.2 points per game, on 42.9% and 41.2% three-point shooting respectively.
Flyers guard Tevin Olison leads both teams in points per game, with 16.4 and will look to influence the result.
This game will likely be a closer encounter than its predecessor earlier this month.
Both teams will fancy their chances of winning and increasing their likelihood of finishing in the top four.
