Gauff Dominates Once Again, Reaches Fourth Straight Quarter-Final at Roland Garros

Gauff Delivers Yet Another Thrashing To Reach Fourth Consecutive Roland Garros Quarter-Final

After Iga Swiatek defeated her opponent in two swift sets at the 2024 Roland Garros, Coco Gauff followed suit by securing a victory on the same court.

Sunday proved to be a quick day for the women at the Court Philippe-Chatrier as Swiatek dominated with a 6-0, 6-0 win, followed by Gauff’s strong performance.

Gauff faced off against Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who had a challenging week of tennis in Paris but couldn’t match Gauff’s level in this match. Gauff’s solid form in Paris continued with this convincing win.

There are strong indications of another semi-final showdown between Gauff and Swiatek, but it’s important not to get ahead of ourselves. Gauff swiftly claimed the opening set of her fourth-round match in just 25 minutes with a 6-1 win.

While the Italian attempted to attack and challenge the 20-year-old, her execution fell short. Gauff’s consistent play led to a dominant 6-1 scoreline.

The second set saw both players trading breaks, a common scenario for Gauff. Despite breaking her opponent’s serve frequently, Gauff also faced challenges with her own service game.

Following a brief loss of focus, the 2023 US Open champion regrouped and secured a 3-1 lead. While Cocciaretto possesses the capability to trouble top players, she struggled to deliver sharp tennis in this match.

Gauff emerged victorious with a 6-1, 6-2 scoreline after approximately an hour of play, marking a successful performance for her. She is set to return to the courts later in the day for a doubles match alongside Katerina Siniakova.
