Gauff On Plans For Her 20s

Gauff On Plans For Her 20s

Coco Gauff is no longer a teenager after turning 20 years old, and the American has talked about what she would like to achieve in her 20s.

The US Open champion has been called a teenage sensation for years. But that will now finally end after Gauff celebrated her 20th birthday on March 13th to put her teenage years behind her.

She did give herself the perfect birthday present at the Indian Wells Open. Gauff demolished Elise Mertens to qualify for the quarterfinal. Attempting to win a WTA 1000 event will certainly keep her occupied right now.

However, many fans will undoubtedly speculate about Gauff’s plans for the next decade after turning 20, and she was asked about that in her press conference in Indian Wells.

Gauff first answered about her tennis plans. She gave a very clear and honest response to this, with some clear goals that the American would like to achieve.

“I guess tennis goals, definitely to win some more slams, and I want to medal at this Olympics or in 2028. That would be cool.”

Gauff gave a very direct answer. Although all tournaments are important, Grand Slams are always a goal for all top players at the start of each season, and the Olympics are very prestigious since it is an opportunity that only comes every four years.

Gauff also talked about general life goals in the response that she gave, and she humorously mentioned two things that she was not looking to do.

“Then life goals, honestly, I haven’t thought that far. Yeah, I mean, I’m not trying to do anything, I’m not trying to get married or anything. Definitely no kids. Yeah, just tennis right now and we’ll see where life takes me off the court.

This is one of many examples of Gauff giving interesting answers to questions. Another such case is when Gauff outlined why Rafael Nadal was her dream mixed doubles partner.
